What is M2Carbon?
M2Carbon is a carbon credit trading platform that allows individuals and companies to purchase, manage, and transfer verified CO₂ credits from global, certified projects. The process is secure, digital, and compliant with the highest international standards.
Who can use M2Carbon?
Anyone — individuals, businesses, ESG investors, or brokers — who wants to buy certified carbon credits from verified environmental projects.
How do I register?
Click the Register button on our homepage. Choose whether you are signing up as a personal or corporate account. The process takes only a few minutes.
What is KYC/KYB?
KYC (Know Your Customer) is required for individuals; KYB (Know Your Business) is required for companies. This verification ensures your identity is legitimate and is mandatory before purchasing any credits.
How long does KYC/KYB take?
Usually within 24–48 hours after all necessary documents are uploaded. Our compliance team will notify you once you're approved.
2. Purchasing CO₂ Credits
How do I buy carbon credits on M2Carbon?
Once your account is verified:
- You are assigned a dedicated Account Manager.
- You discuss how many credits you need and what type.
- You receive a customized purchase contract via DocuSign.
- You sign the contract electronically.
- You see the bank details for payment inside your dashboard.
- After payment, credits are instantly added to your account.
What type of carbon credits do you offer?
All credits are sourced from VERRA and Gold Standard-certified projects. These are the top global registries for verified environmental impact.
Can I see the details of the carbon credits I'm buying?
Yes. Once credits are credited to your account, you can see:
- Project name
- Project ID
- Location
- Methodology
- Registry (VERRA or Gold Standard)
- Issuance date
- Documentation and metadata
In what currency do I pay?
All payments are made in USD via SWIFT bank transfer. The bank details are provided inside your user dashboard after contract execution.
How long does it take to receive credits?
Usually within 1 business day of your payment being received. The credits appear automatically in your dashboard.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The price you agree on in your contract is the final price. There are no platform or processing fees for credit issuance.
3. Claiming & Ownership
What does "Claim My CO₂ Credits" mean?
This button completes the legal process of transferring credits to your name or company. Until claimed, credits remain unassigned in the platform, although they are reserved for you.
Can I use or export my credits without claiming them?
No. You must first claim the credits in order to:
- Export them to VERRA or Gold Standard
- Retire them
- Transfer them to a third party
- Use them for compliance or reporting
Can I transfer credits before claiming?
Yes. You can transfer unclaimed credits internally to another M2Carbon user. That user can then claim the credits under their own name or company.
Can I assign credits to a different entity or subsidiary?
Yes. During the "Claim" process, you can specify the exact legal name of the entity that should hold the credits.
4. Transfers & Internal Management
How do I transfer credits to another user?
From the My Credits section:
- Select the credit(s) you wish to transfer.
- Click Transfer to Another User.
- Enter the recipient's M2Carbon account email or ID.
- Confirm the transfer.
Can I split credits into multiple parts?
Yes. You can choose the number of credits you want to transfer or retain. All transactions are in full CO₂ credits (1 ton = 1 credit).
Can I receive credits from another user?
Yes. Once another user transfers credits to you, they will show up in your dashboard — and you will have the option to claim them under your name.
5. Integration with Registries
What is a registry like VERRA or Gold Standard?
Registries are independent, global bodies that track the issuance and retirement of carbon credits. They ensure transparency, integrity, and legitimacy of every credit.
Can I export my credits to VERRA or Gold Standard?
Yes. After claiming your credits, you can request export to your registry account or a third party's. Your Account Manager will facilitate this.
Can I retire my credits once they're in a registry?
Yes. Retiring credits means they are permanently removed from circulation and can no longer be traded. This is typically done to offset your company's carbon emissions.
Can I sell or transfer registry credits?
Yes. Once credits are in your registry account, they can be sold or transferred according to the rules of that registry (VERRA or GS).

How do I track my credits?
In your dashboard, you can view:
- Total number of credits
- Claimed/unclaimed status
- Project details
- Transfer history
- Registry export status
Can I download documents for compliance?
Yes. After claiming credits, downloadable documentation is available for:
- Project certification
- Transaction history
- Ownership declaration
- Retirement (if applicable)
Can I use these credits for ESG reporting?
Absolutely. Once claimed, these credits are yours and can be used for:
- Carbon offset declarations
- ESG disclosures
- Sustainability reports

7. Security, Legal & Support
How are funds and credits secured?
Funds are received into verified company bank accounts.
Credits are issued directly via platform logic.
All transactions and actions are logged and secure.

Who manages my account?
Every client is assigned a dedicated Account Manager from day one. You'll have direct communication for any support, questions, or transaction requests.
What happens if I lose access to my account?
Contact support immediately. After a brief verification process, access will be restored.
What happens if I don't claim my credits?
Credits will remain in your account, but they won't be legally assigned to your name or company until you complete the "Claim" process.
